A rare red from a small corner of Piedmont: about 40 hectares around seven villages near Asti, with Castagnole Monferrato giving the DOCG its name. The wines are ruby with a violet tinge, dry and medium-bodied. Look for the slightly aromatic nose, with floral notes, wild berries and pepper.
